Industrial Endoscope Detects Cracks

Released on Dec. 10, 2021

Industrial endoscopes allow us to easily and accurately observe the internal surface structure or working state of the object without destroying the surface of the object to be detected. It can check surface cracks, peeling, pull lines, scratches, pits, bumps, spots, corrosion and other defects. Industrial endoscopes are connected with cameras, video cameras or electronic computers to form a camera, video and image processing system, so as to monitor, record, store and analyze the field of view targets. It provides a good guarantee for diagnosis and processing. The inspector can see the video image on the display screen to determine whether there are cracks or cracks in the equipment and their severity, so as to make the correct replacement, repair or maintenance decision. Compared with the detection after equipment disassembly, the use of industrial endoscopes to detect cracks has obvious advantages of low cost and high efficiency. Such as metal cracks.

Metal cracks refer to unstable defects formed when some weak parts of the whole metal do not crack under the action of stress. There are inevitably various micro-cracks in actual metal parts. These micro-cracks may be generated during processing or use, and gradually generate and grow under specific loads or environmental conditions. Once the microcrack has expanded to a critical size, the part will be completely destroyed-fractured. In other words, the fracture process of metal materials can be divided into three stages: crack initiation, metastable crack propagation, unstable crack propagation and fracture, and the latter two stages may lead to equipment failure or accidents. Detect parts with cracks or defects exceeding the critical size through industrial endoscopes, and discard and replace them in time to avoid accidents or further economic losses.

In addition to cracks in metallic materials, industrial endoscopes can also be used to detect cracks in non-metallic materials, for example, in the fields of construction bridges, pipeline welding, railway transportation and aerospace. Usually in the inspection process, the inspection and judgment can be carried out as follows: when the light is irradiated vertically, black or bright lines can be observed at the cracks or cracks. When the cracks are wide, use a measurable endoscope to measure the shadow line to show the curve Fold etc.

Industrial endoscope technology has unique advantages. It can extend people's sight distance, and can change the direction of sight arbitrarily, and accurately observe the true condition of the inner surface of the object, which cannot be replaced by other detection instruments.
